Help with Transcripted
Start here for install, permissions, and audio troubleshooting.
Install help
Download Transcripted, open the DMG, and drag the app into Applications.
The first time you open Transcripted, it downloads the speech-recognition engine it uses to transcribe on your Mac — a few minutes on Wi-Fi, one time only. After that, everything works offline.
If setup gets stuck, keep the app open on Wi-Fi for a few minutes, then quit and reopen it.
Permissions
Allow Microphone for your voice. For meeting audio, also allow Screen & System Audio Recording when macOS asks.
Microphone access captures you. Screen & System Audio Recording lets Transcripted hear the call.
If meeting audio is silent, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and check those permissions.
Report a bug
Use GitHub issues for bugs, install trouble, or missing docs. Include your macOS version, Transcripted version, and what you expected to happen. GitHub issues are public, so do not post private audio, transcripts, or customer details.
