Transcripted records and transcribes entirely on your Mac. Your audio and transcripts are never uploaded — there is no server to upload them to.

App data

Transcripted is built around local files. Your transcripts, notes, and metadata are saved on your Mac.

There is no account, no sync, and no cloud transcription. The one time the app uses the internet is on first launch, to download the speech-recognition engine it runs on your Mac. After that, transcription works fully offline.

Downloads and updates

The website links to signed releases hosted on GitHub. Visiting GitHub or downloading the app may be logged by GitHub.

If you report a bug through GitHub, the information you share there is handled by GitHub.

Website data

This website keeps anonymous counters — which pages are viewed and how often the download link is clicked. No cookies, no accounts, no personal profiles. (Technical detail: aggregate counts stored in Cloudflare, including page path and referring site.)
