How to use local meeting transcripts with Claude

To use local meeting transcripts with Claude, open Transcripted Settings, go to Agent, click Connect on the Claude Desktop row, then restart Claude. Claude can use Transcripted's read-only tools first, with local Markdown folders as a fallback.

Steps

    Open Agent settings

    Open Transcripted, go to Settings, then choose Agent.

    Connect Claude Desktop

    Click Connect on the Claude Desktop row, then restart Claude Desktop so it can see Transcripted's read-only tools.

    Ask a sourced question

    Ask Claude to summarize your latest meeting and tell you which Transcripted source it used, including the filename or date.

    Use files as the fallback

    If direct tools are not connected, give Claude the smallest useful set of saved Markdown files or folders instead.

    Keep the archive current

    Add new meetings and dictations after they happen so Claude has fresh spoken context next time.

What Claude needs from meeting notes

Claude is more useful when the meeting context is concrete. Transcripted's connection gives Claude read-only tools for recent context, search, meetings, dictations, and recaps.

If those tools are not available, use the saved Markdown folders. Transcripted still creates a readable note, transcript, and structured frontmatter Claude can work from.
